Casio Rock Review

Today we’re going to take a look at the Casio G’zOne Rockfor Verizon Wireless. If there is any phone we offer that is meant to go anywhere, this is that phone. Upon handling it feels heavier than most other flip phones, but for good reason. It feels tough, and that is exactly what it is. On the outside it has a rubberized case and where there isn’t rubber is super tough plastic. On the front it has a basic display, much like what you would see on a digtal watch, that displays the time and date along with battery life and reception as well as touch sensitive controls for your music.

Along the right side we find the charger port and USB port, on the left we find the Headphone jack, push to talk button, volume controls and a button that changes it’s mode, which we’ll talk about in a bit. On the back we find the super tough battery plate and 2MP camera with flash. When open it up, and as you can see there is a cool flip button on the right that flips it open, we see a 2.1 inch color display and phone buttons that give a military kind of feel.

You want to go mountain climbing? You can do that with this phone. Do you want to know if it’s low tide or high tide, good thing you have this phone. How about a walking counter? Thermometer? Astro calendar? This phone has so many outdoors modes under it’s G’gear button that any hiker, surfer, camper or mountain climber would love to have. Not only is this phone fitted with software for outdoors, it’s fitted itself with the hardware to take it. It has been tested with military standards for shock, water, humidity, dust, solar radiation, altitude, you name it. Not only that, you can hold down the speaker button to turn your phone into a flashlight, something typically only found on smart phones with a downloaded app. The camera isn’t that bad for a phone jammed with so many features, I wouldn’t use this for big events, but while outside this can take some decent pictures at 2MP, with a few more options than the typical flip phone.

The Casio Rock for Verizon Wireless is the ultimate in outdoors ready flip phones. It’s tough, tested tough and feels tough. It has great applications, built in, for keeping up to date with where you are, what you’re doing and what you may be up against depending on what outdoors activity you’re doing. The added bonus of being a 3G capable phone makes this the perfect flip phone for someone who wants it all, but doesn’t want a smart phone. Someone who wants a phone that can almost survive anything, and begs to be tested on that claim. You can buy this phone and many others at thebluedot.net as well as trade in your old and used phones at thebluedot.net/tradein

    Samsung Fascinate Galaxy S

The Samsung Fascinate, a droid OS phone, gives a nice light feel to it and feels like one piece. On the back we can see the 5MP camera with LED flash. On the right side we find the power button, with the headphone jack and USB/power port on top. On the left we find the volume controls and the rest of the phones controls along the front, which was touch and not button activated. Unlike other droids you may have seen the settings, home and search buttons along the bottom are seamlessly attached to the 4 inch touch display.

As mentioned before the touch screen is a 4inch screen with a 480x800 resolution display.  It is a 3G phone so expect fast load times and quick access to email and videos. Like all other droids it has the droid market place and plenty of Google apps at your disposal, such the free turn by turn GPS Google navigator. It has a 2GB internal memory and can take up to 32GB micro SD card to expand your memory.  The camera can take 5MP pictures along with video, it has some internal photo editing programs, but with the droid market place you can get any number of programs to edit your pictures and video if the built in stuff doesn’t cut it for you.

This phone is part of the Galaxy line from Samsung, so you can be sure it is one of the better droids available. The screen is bright the design is slick and the interface is great if you prefer the Droid OS. If you’re in the market for a smart phone, be it droid, iPhone or windows, this is one of the droid phones you should consider. HTC Droid Eris Review

Today we’re going to take a look at the HTC Droid Eris For Verizon Wireless. Upon first handling this device it is slightly heavier than non-QWERTY keyboard droids with a thicker design and softer rubberized like finish covering it. It makes it feel a bit tougher, like it can bounce if you drop it, though I wouldn’t suggest doing that with any phone. It has a medium sized touch screen display at 3.2 inches but what separates this droid from others is the jog ball below the screen for easy navigation. If you’re used to how your old blackberry may have navigated this may be the best transition if you thinking of moving over to droids. On the top we find the headphone jack while on the left we have the volume controls. On the back we find the 5MP camera and the USB power port on the bottom.

Being a droid phone it touts most of the features you’ll find on every other Android. Free Google turn by turn navigation, tons of apps and a slick interface. The camera comes in nice and clear at 5MP. The track ball is a nice feature for those more familiar with that kind of navigation. It can go 17 days on a full charge on standby or just over 5 hours on constant voice. It has Bluetooth capabilities like most droids as well.

The HTC Droid Eris for Verizon Wireless is a phone that feels a bit tougher and has a much friendlier navigation for those making the jump from blackberry to droids. If you’re looking for an android phone with tons of apps, a nice camera and jog ball interface control… this is the only phone for you really. You can buy this phone and many others at thebluedot.net as well as trade in your old and used phones at thebluedot.net/tradein

    The Motorola Devour

The Motorola Devour, the first Verizon Phone to Feature MotoBlur (a  service that syncs in-phone data with several Social media sites) looks both futuristic and tough. With it’s metallic Case and black plastic accents it looks like something out of a sci-fi film. Heavier than some phones, it gives the impression it’s built to last and not feel that clunky. The Screen slides to the side to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. Sliding the Screen feels very solid, especially when it clicks into place. Along the top we can see a Standard Headphone jack in the center. The Samsung Convoy

The Samsung Convoy is ready for Verizon duty! Lighthearted jokes aside, that may not be too far from the truth. A design that screams tough, the Convoy is literally built to withstand the worst. It has an intimidating rugged look with a metallic theme throughout. Upon handling, it gives more weight than other clam shell phones such as the LG Accolade. Heavy doesn't necessarily mean bad, in fact this just makes it seem even hardier. When flipped open it has large easy to read face buttons with large menu buttons up top. Along the side we see a rib like theme that not only is on the structure, but also the buttons. On the left we can see the push to talk button, while on the right we have the volume controls, headphone jack and microSD slot. The phones face also features a screen with easily accessible media buttons for music.

The Convoy is made to take a beating with military grade 810F for shock, dust resistance, vibration, humidity, solar radiation, altitude and low to high tempratures. On a full charge this phone can be powered on standby for  just over 22 days or for 5 hours voice non-stop. It has an internal memory of 100 mb, but features a MicroSD slot for expanded memory.  The Camera is a 2.0 MP with nightshot, zoom and video options.

The Samsung Convoy has everything a tough construction worker, or clumsy desk jockey could ask for.
